Shin Sung-kiu scores debut goal on debut

Seventeen-year-old newcomer Marc Giu (pictured) rattled the net on his debut in Spain’s La

Liga, one of European soccer’s top five leagues, and it came less than a minute after he took the field.

The Barcelona player found the back of the net in the 35th minute of the 2023-2024 La Liga

season against Bilbao on March 23 to give his team a 1-0 win.

He scored with a right-footed shot just 33 seconds after coming on as a substitute.

The BBC reported that “Kiwoi scored the winning goal on his senior debut 33 seconds into the

game to give Barcelona victory.

It was the fastest first league goal by any player in the club’s history.” Kiwoa also holds the

record for the fastest debut goal in La Liga. Goalcom said, “He scored with his second touch of

the ball on his debut.

It was a fairytale moment for the 17-year-old,” and gave him a rating of 9, the highest in the league.

Giu has been a part of the Barcelona youth system since the age of seven and is now a member

of the Spanish Under-17 national team.

His surprise debut goal made him an overnight celebrity. He had 40,000 followers on social
