Women’s volleyball falls to Thailand in Paris Olympics qualifier…sixth straight loss in a row

The South Korean women’s volleyball team suffered their sixth consecutive defeat at the Paris 2024 Olympic Qualifiers 바카라사이트 with a loss to Thailand.

Led by head coach Cesar Hernandez (Spain), South Korea fell to Thailand 0-3 (14-25 16-25 16-25) in the sixth match of Group C of the Paris Olympic Qualification Tournament in Łódź, Poland, on Wednesday (June 23).

South Korea, who were eliminated from the competition earlier in the day, dropped their sixth match against Thailand following a 2-3 loss to Colombia the previous day (Feb. 22).

South Korea finished last in the eight-team pool with 2 points.

Korea’s offense was lackluster, with no player scoring in double digits on the day. Park Jung-ah (Pepper Savings Bank) had a team-high eight points and Kang So-hwi (GS Caltex) had seven.

Thailand was led by their signature outside hitter, Atcharaphorn Kongyot, with 19 points.

The Thai national team trio, which will join the V-League in the upcoming 2023-24 season as the Asian quarterfinalists, also had strong performances. Setter Ponpun Gedpard (IBK) led the way with eight points, followed by Thanacha Suksot (Korea Expressway Corporation) and Wipai Sittong (Hyundai E&C) with three points,

South Korea, which is undefeated in Olympic qualifying, will play its final match against Slovenia (1-5) on Thursday before heading to Hangzhou, China, for the Hangzhou Asian Games on Friday.
