Lawson triple-double…pro basketball DB leads SK to 30-point victory

Wonju DB finished the first round with an 8-1 record, led by Dedrick Lawson’s triple-double.

DB defeated Seoul SK by a whopping 30 points, 106-76, in a home game in the 2023-2024 regular season of the Korean Basketball League at Wonju General Gymnasium in Wonju, Gangwon Province, on Wednesday.

DB, which finished the first round with an 8-1 record, moved into sole possession of first place with a two-game lead over second-place Anyang Jungkwanjang (6-3).

After a loss to Jeonggwanjang on Tuesday halted their seven-game winning streak to open the season, DB turned things around against SK with an even offensive performance that saw five players score in double figures.

In particular, Lawson led the way with a triple-double of 15 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists.

This is Lawson’s second triple-double in the regular season after KT Paris Bass (29 points, 13 rebounds, 11 assists) on Sept. 9 in Suwon.

DB, which led 44-38 at halftime, held SK to just 19 points in the third quarter and scored 32 points to pull away.

In addition to Lawson, five other players scored at least 10 points, including Kang Sang-jae (20), Lee Sun Albano (17), Kim Jong-kyu (16), and Park In-woong (10), as DB snapped a five-game losing streak against SK.

SK, on the other hand, was led by Jamil Warney’s 15 points, but was unable to recover from a third-quarter deficit.

In a matchup of streaking teams, Jung Kwan-jang and Changwon LG met in Anyang, with Jung Kwan-jang winning 85-71.

The defending champions have won four straight games to move into sole possession of second place with a 6-3 record.

Meanwhile, LG, which was looking for its sixth straight win, dropped to 5-4 and tied for fourth place with Ulsan Hyundai Mobis.

Jungkwanjang was led by Lens Abando’s 18 points to pace LG, which was led by Asem Marei’s 14 points and 15 rebounds. 먹튀검증
