While his teammates are all back in action, Giovanni Rosselso is yet to make an official return from injury.
The Sun reported on Monday (Sept. 9) that the Tottenham midfielder will not be included in the squad for the home game against Brighton & Hove Albion despite taking part in all team training this week.
“Rosselso has returned to team training this week and is hoping to be named in the squad for the game against Brighton,” the media reported, “but despite taking part in all training sessions, he will miss the trip to Brighton as a further precaution.”
Tottenham will host Brighton in the 24th round of the 2023-2024 Premier League season at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, England, on Nov. 11 at 0:00 p.m.
Postecoglou hinted on Sept. 9 that Rosselso would miss the game in his pre-match press conference, which was held a day ahead of the match.
“He’s been in full training this week, but he’s missed a couple of games, so we have to see how he is and if we can give him a chance in another week,” Postecoglou said.
Rosselso had only been back in training with the team for about a month after being sidelined with a muscle injury on January 6th. He was hoping to make a comeback as he recuperated, but it appears that he is not yet fit enough to play.
This is the third injury Rosselso has suffered this season. Last year, he suffered a hamstring injury in late August and missed five league games before returning in early October.
Since his return, he has been an important player for Spurs. When attacking midfielder James Maddison suffered an ankle injury against Chelsea in early November last year, he was diagnosed with a condition that would prevent him from returning until the end of the year, so Rosselso’s performance in the same position was crucial.
After the Chelsea game, Rosselso played five consecutive games, scoring two goals in a row against Aston Villa in round 13 and Manchester City in round 14. Despite his poor form during this period, he filled the void left by Maddison.
In the 20th round home game of the league against Bournemouth, Rosselso assisted on goals from Pape Mattharsar and Son Heung-min in the 9th 카지노사이트 minute and 26th minute, respectively, in a 3-1 win.
Rosselso was withdrawn from the squad for the next league game against Nottingham. He felt pain in training and was ruled out. At the time, Postecoglou said in his pre-match press conference, “We have a new injury. Rosselso felt some discomfort in training. I don’t know what the problem is, but he hasn’t been able to train and we don’t have much time. I just hope it’s not a serious injury.”
Spurs have been bolstered by the return of Heung-min Son, Sarr and Yves Bissouma from the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Nations Cup.
Maddison also made his return from a lengthy injury layoff, coming on as a substitute in the FA Cup fourth round against Man City on March 27th. In the 23rd round match against Everton, he assisted on the second goal of the game, setting up the second goal of the match in the 41st minute to record his first offensive point since his return.
While all of his teammates have returned, Rosselso is still struggling with the aftermath of his injury and will miss the Brighton game.
