‘Here We Go’ romanticized “Man Utd likely to sell top prospect Greenwood”

Ratcliffe’s ‘white lie’ wrapped in ‘our player’

The transfer of former Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood (Getafe CF) has become more likely.

“United appear to be open to offers for Greenwood,” European soccer transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano said on Wednesday (Nov. 11).

The Red Devils have a new owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe. Ratcliffe recently completed the acquisition of a 25% minority stake in the club. Already, there have been many changes at the club. The club has hired rival Manchester City Chief Operating Officer Omar Berarda as CEO, and has decided to build a new stadium at Old Trafford.

Nevertheless, there is someone who makes Lord Ratcliffe’s head hurt. That would be Greenwood. Greenwood is currently playing on loan at Getafe. United tried to sell Greenwood in the summer transfer window, even going so far as to include a 20% sell-on clause that would have cost them money.

Greenwood was one of United’s brightest prospects. He was a bright future for the Red Devils, especially in the absence of a striker. Greenwood broke into the first team in 2018-19, and in 2019-20, he burst onto the scene and earned a regular spot in the starting lineup. Greenwood scored 17 goals and provided five assists in 49 games, anchoring United’s right side of the attack.

At the start of the 2020-21 season, Greenwood cooled off a bit. However, he rebounded midway through the season, eventually scoring 12 goals and four assists in 52 games for his second straight year of double-digit points. In 2021-22, he scored on the opening day of the season and maintained his early season momentum with six goals and two assists in 24 games.

But then came the shocker for United. Reports surfaced that Greenwood had assaulted and raped his girlfriend. In an official statement, the club announced that Greenwood would not be participating in team training and would not play in any games until further notice. Greenwood has been removed from the first team squad.

Ultimately, United decided that Greenwood would not return to the club. Greenwood opted for a loan move to Getafe, where he has been in superb form this season. He has six goals and five assists in 23 La Liga games. Since the end of January, he has been on a recent upswing with three goals and one assist in eight games.

Big clubs have been salivating over Greenwood’s form. FC Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are keen to sign Greenwood, with Real Madrid also joining 토토사이트 the race. Manchester United are also seriously considering a move for Greenwood after his performances this season.

Lord Ratcliffe shared his thoughts on Greenwood in an interview upon his appointment. “We will make a new decision on Greenwood. ”We will make a new decision about Greenwood, whether he is the type of player we are looking for and ultimately a good person. Greenwood is still a United player.”

Greenwood wants an unconditional return to Man Utd. “Greenwood wants a second chance. If United can help him revive his career, he will be the first to return. Eric ten Haag was keen to keep Greenwood. Greenwood would immediately become an integral part of the squad.”

Unlike Greenwood, United are still mulling over their options. ”We haven’t made a final decision on Greenwood yet,” Romano said. I have a feeling that if there is a transfer offer, they will consider it. United could cash in on Greenwood this summer. We will have internal discussions and wait for Ineos’ decision.”

It will be interesting to see what United decide to do with Greenwood when he returns from his loan next season.
