Bae Ji-hwan went 0-for-4 with a walk and a hit in his first at-bat as a center fielder and No. 9 hitter in the Pirates’ 2024 Major League Baseball (MLB) World Series home opener against the San Francisco Giants at PNC Park in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on Thursday (June 24).

Bae, who went 1-for-3 since being promoted to the big leagues on Feb. 22, went hitless after missing the previous day, dropping his season batting average to .143.
